Sena King
Sena is a word-burning artist local to Brooksville. She creates on "ArtGourds." In describing her work, "ArtGourd is a word I coined while teaching at the Folk School, to help people focus on the ART wonders that can be created on the humble vessel ~ a gourd ~ all one word but with two capital letters. They have even been found in the tombs of Egypt!! All my work is done "freehand" in pencil on the gourd first, then burned. You can't erase with a wood burner so it has to be "just" the way you want it before you begin burning!"
You can view Sena's artwork at Gallery 201 at City Hall and meet her during the stroll! To contact Sena to view her collection, you can call her at 352.799.1950.

Gary Duquette
“I am primarily a watercolorist but have developed methods to paint with wine, coffee, and beer using traditional watercolor techniques. Over time, I have painted over forty wall murals, both inside & out! I teach group and personal lessons in almost any medium you desire. I host painting event parties throughout Hernando as well. Occasionally, I have the urge to paint large canvas paintings and detailed murals. I had a studio and custom framing shop in Stafford, VA, for twenty years, but now call Hernando County home. I'd love to do something special for you. I will be glad to respond promptly. I hope that you enjoy my artwork!” - Gary

Sam Eshelman
Sam grew up in an inconsequential place with irrelevant details. He’s constantly questioning his own relationship to the Self, which guides him towards subtle, ephemeral art to deepen his understanding. He was drawn to Henna (mehendi) as a way to connect with others that would appreciate the natural and traditional art form. Don’t ask him for a “butterfly”. Just don’t ask. His desire is to add enough beauty to the world where it makes you question your own awareness of reality.

Nancy Barry
My name is Nancy Barry & I am a Mixed Media Artist from Florida. I graduated University of Tampa in 2016 with a BA in Fine Arts. I am a mother of two & a business owner so art for me really is a form of release and therapy. The idea that we only have this moment in time to make it count, really drives the direction of my art. I focus on the duality of our emotions represented in themes of nature and the relationship of colors.

Sam Rispoli
My name is Sam Rispoli and I’m a 25-year-old self-taught artist. I like working in a variety of different media but mostly work in acrylic paints. I love anything with bright colors or sparkles. I’ve been an art instructor for Painting With a Twist for 6 years, and recently became a full-time tattoo artist at The Upper Room Tattoo Parlor. I’ve been drawing on paper (and other people) for as long as I can remember, so I knew for a long time art is the only thing that I wanted to do. I am so grateful to create every day and work alongside amazing artists. Very excited to create more than ever this year!”
